The "Identity, Diversity, Justice, Action" Curriculum Framework
Throughout the year, you'll take your students from understanding themselves, to developing empathy for others, to learning about real world issues, and finally to developing their role as a changemaker.
We start with identity: Who are you? This focus helps kids see themselves reflected and celebrated, a mirror before anything else, so they know right away that they're valued, seen, and understood in this space.
Then we open a window to diversity: Who are the people different from you, and what does their experience look like? This is where kids start to develop curiosity and empathy for people with different identities, whether those are their friends or strangers around the world.
From there, we move into justice: What are the real issues affecting your community, and which ones do you care about? This is where kids start to see the world honestly, in age-appropriate ways, without being overwhelmed by it.
And finally, we take action: What's my role in making my community, school, or home more fair? This is where kids will start to develop their own identity as a changemaker.

A Framework that Adapts to your Needs
You're busy. We get it. Every lesson is designed by educators, for educators, so it fits your real life.
Use a lesson exactly as written when you need a ready-to-go sub plan or a last-minute activity. Don't have an hour to spare? Break a lesson into ten minute chunks during morning meeting across a week. Want to go deep on a topic? Slow it down into a full month-long unit to fit your focus for the month.
If your students are brand new to this work, start with a lower grade level lesson. If they've been building this practice since pre-K, jump ahead.
Grab what you need in the moment, or follow the lessons in order. The curriculum is built to be customized, because there is no one-size-fits-all classroom.
